Handyman / Property Maintenance Associate

Full time position working with our in house maintenance team to trouble shoot maintenance requests, conduct property inspections and complete some handyman tasks at our portfolio of properties.

Working as part of three person team, this role is primarily in the field to perform preliminary assessments and damage control. Will also work the property managers to assist with property turn over tasks



  • Complete the scheduled interim inspections
  • Interact with tenants and explain repairs performed/needed when necessary
  • Observe and document any visual damage to the interior and exterior of the property
  • Highlight and document any preventative maintenance required internally and externally (e.g. re-stain deck, missing roof shingles, flaking paint, damaged down spout)
  • Assist and document any maintenance comments from residents
  • Document any pets or evidence of pets in the property
  • Confirm the presence of any pets is in accordance with the lease
  • Note any possible signs of lease violation items
  • Upload completed inspections, highlighting all those that require attention of the either maintenance or property manager


  • Trouble shoot maintenance issues and assist in determine best vendor / trade to address problem (Handyman, Plumbing, Electrical, appliance, GC)
  • Replace Smoke detectors / batteries and HVAC filters where necessary
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance of properties including:
    • Touch-up Painting
    • Yard maintenance, grass cutting
    • Non pressurized plumbing
    • Hauling and trash removal
    • Replace air filters
    • Replace smoke detectors and change batteries
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls
  • Install and remove signs and lock boxes
  • Install smoke detectors, locks, hand rails, light bulbs and screens.
  • Keep records, receipts and billing time for work performed on properties




Attitude: Must work with other co-workers and tenants harmoniously. Must be likeable, self-motivated, punctual, responsible, honest and dependable.

Travel: Must have valid driver’s license in good standing; reliable transportation

Attire: Company uniform provided

Supervision: Works independently daily; reports to Maintenance Manager.

Systems: Proficient use of computer software and smartphone apps



Education: High School Degree

Experience: 1+ year related experience

Background: No criminal records



Employ Type: Full time Salary position

Compensation : $26,000 – $30,000 + Benefits

Paid time off: 10 Days + holidays ~ increasing annually to max 20 days

Holidays: Paid major holidays

Health Care: Up to $300 pm towards heath care (after 90 days)

Retirement: Simple IRA with 3% match (after 12 months)

Phone: Company paid phone

Transportation: Company truck provided and available for employees use to and from work
