Spring Yard Clean-up Tips

Spring is a great time for a yard clean up.   It is also an ideal time to de-winterize your house inside and out. Below we have listed a our top 6 items to consider as you plan your spring yard and home clean-up.

• Check gutters and storm drains – Over the winter gutters and storm drain can become clogged with sticks and leaves.  Spring is the perfect time to clear out all the clogs so the rain can drain.
• Weed and mulch flower beds – By first weeding your flower beds and then laying down mulch, you are guaranteed to keep the weeds away.
• Change the batteries in your smoke alarms – A good way to remember to do this is when you turn your clocks ahead also test you smoke alarms.
• De-winterize your outside faucets – Turn on any hose bibs that were shut off for the winter
• Air Filers – Spring is good time to check and replace air filters, especially after the winter we had this year.  Diligence in keeping air filters clean now  will pay dividends once the summer heats up and you turn on the AC.
